Information regarding the disposal of used batteries and accumulators
Batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of together with municipal waste. Users are obliged to hand over used batteries and accumulators to separate collection systems. This obligation stems from waste management principles and regulations applicable in Poland and across the European Union.

All batteries and accumulators must be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. This marking indicates that they cannot be disposed of together with household waste and should be taken to appropriate collection points.
Waste batteries and accumulators may contain substances that can be harmful to the environment and health if improperly disposed of. At the same time, they contain valuable raw materials that can be recovered and reused through the recycling process.
Waste batteries and accumulators can be returned free of charge to designated collection points, in particular to:
- separate municipal waste collection points (PSZOK),
- battery collection points located, for example, in supermarkets or service centers,
- stores selling equipment, which are obligated to accept them,
- Auto Partner (exclusive distributor of the ROOKS brand) branches, which are also obligated to accept waste batteries and accumulators.
ROOKS maintains records of electronic waste and batteries in the BDO database system and regularly reports their placement on European Union markets.
The legal basis in this area is Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 concerning batteries and waste batteries, which applies directly in Poland and other European Union member states.
